Lunch atop a Skyscraper:
This is one of the most famous photographs that have
been taken in New York and is well known in the world. The photographer was Charles
Clyde Ebbets and took it in black and white in 1932 and during the construction
of the RCA building.
This photograph is very
important because it represents the labor situation that many workers lived
during the Great Depression. Although there was apparently a job of preparation
for it, the workers if they were on a 69th floor and their safety precautions were
very bad.I find it striking that at some point the workers were treated like
this, but even now there are many people who risk their lives for economic
sustenance. Also, I would like to learn more about photography because I do not
know much. Now we have a course in college and I think it has helped me a lot
with the basic techniques.
I invite you to review
more historical photos and tell me which ones you like.
Regards !
